A proposal

From out of the wooded earth you came,
a dream so long forgotten made real.
My soul’s cold ember leapt to flame,
and my heart received your power to heal.
You say you saw the same in me,
and knew me before we met in the wood.
You wanted—you prayed—for us to be,
until there, deep in the woods, I stood.
Together as us, we live and we pray,
and in a sacred light we bask.
Our epic love has shown us the way
so now, forever as us, I ask:
Will you marry me?
