Digging deeper

The spring will bubble up and swiftly flow,

so drinking’s easy then in morning’s glow

and we can quench our thirst for free,

the way an unexpected love can grow.

A time then comes when more’s desired and glee

is not enough, and together we agree

to make a bond, a home, to dig a well,

and make a lasting place for us to be.

It’s here our family thrives, and grows, and dwells

until the fount runs dry and then compels

our hearts to reach again, a few more feet,

and find a deeper pool to last a spell.

…. The living water’s cool and rich and sweet

…. when pulled from inner, loving springs so deep.
