When loved ones fade, they do not cease,
their atoms dance in star and breeze;
through cosmic dark their waves find peace,
and whisper softly through the trees.
The photons that have touched their face
still wander on through time and flame;
no force can end what love’s embrace
has etched upon the cosmic frame.
Their heat, their song, their breath, their spark
still move within the world’s great spin;
they light the void, they warm the dark,
their motion stirs the life within.
So though they fade from mortal view,
the life they were is ever new.
